Selling
How fast will I get an offer?
Usually within 24 hours of receiving your car's details and photos. Once your car is with our dealer network, we gather the offers and come back to you with the highest one. Rare or unusual cars can occasionally take a little longer, and we'll keep you posted if so.
Will I get retail price for my car?
No, and we'd rather be upfront about that. Dealers buy cars to resell them, so their offers allow for reconditioning, holding costs and their margin. That means an offer will usually be below what you might get selling privately.
What you get in return is speed and certainty: a firm offer within 24 hours, no advertising, no strangers test-driving your car, and no weeks of waiting for the right buyer. And because around 20 dealers see your car, you get the best price the trade is willing to pay.
Do I have to accept the offer?
No. Every offer is no-obligation. If the highest offer isn't right for you, just let us know and that's the end of it.
What does it cost to sell my car?
[Draft, to confirm whether to show: Our fee is 1% of the agreed sale price, payable when your car is sold. The dealer who buys your car also pays us a 1% fee. If you don't accept an offer, there's nothing to pay.]
What paperwork do I need?
Generally you'll need:
- your driver's licence or other photo ID
- the car's registration details
- the service history or logbooks, if you have them
- all keys and remotes
- if there's finance owing, a payout letter from your lender.
The dealer will confirm exactly what they need, and the registration transfer follows the rules in your state.
Can I sell if I still owe finance on the car?
Usually, yes. Just tick "finance owing" on the form. In most cases the dealer pays your lender directly from the sale price and pays you the balance. You'll need a current payout figure from your finance company.
Do dealers inspect the car before paying?
Yes. Offers are based on the details and photos you send, so the dealer will inspect the car before the sale is finalised. If the car is as described, the offer should stand. If the dealer finds something that wasn't mentioned, they may adjust their offer, and you're still free to say no. That's why accurate details and clear photos matter.
Buying
How does car sourcing work?
You tell us what you're after: your budget, the make and model you're considering, and your must-haves. We search the market, research what similar cars are really selling for, and bring you the right options. When you've chosen a car, we help negotiate the price, and then you buy it directly from the seller.
Who do I pay for the car?
You pay the seller directly, whether that's a dealer or a private seller. We don't sell cars and we never hold your money for the purchase.
How do you know a car is fairly priced?
We compare it with recent sales and current listings of the same make, model, year, kilometres and specification, then factor in condition and history. If a car is overpriced, we'll tell you, and we use that evidence when negotiating on your behalf.
Can you find cars interstate?
Yes. Sometimes the right car at the right price is in another state. We'll factor in transport and registration costs so you can compare options fairly.
What does car sourcing cost?
[To confirm: your car sourcing fee, and whether to show it.]
Can you help with my trade-in?
Yes. Let us know on the form. We can take your current car to our dealer network through our Sell in 24 Hours service, so you know what it's really worth and can compare that with any trade-in offer.
Still have a question?
We're happy to help, with no obligation.
